Recommendation: If you are looking for a cheaper alternative with similar features, I would recommend checking out the Anker Soundcore Flare 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker. It may not have the same brand recognition as Bose, but it is a solid option for those looking for a high-quality speaker at a lower price point.
All of the other mediamate systems i've seen online were made in china and specifications listed them as having a slightly larger form factor not available this light grey colour. Since the speakers are stamped made in USA, it is my belief that this system most likely an early version of Bose mediamate line. I have not been able to determine the exact date this Bose mediamate computer speaker system was manufactured but would guess late 1990very early 2000era.
Of course if that device was more recently manufactured it probably will not have an audio output accepts rca cables. The control speaker has old rca cable input jacks. However, there are many inexpensive cable converters available today to solve this small problem.
I will do my best to answer them.
The Bose ac adapter is only component marked as being made in china.
